Dr. Ramana Grandhi received his Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
He joined the Wright State University faculty in 1984 as assistant professor
and was promoted to the rank of professor in 1993. Currently,
Dr. Ramana Grandhi is the distinguished professor of Mechanical and Materials
Engineering at Wright State University, where he directs 20 researchers in
addition to teaching engineering classes. His research interests are in
multidisciplinary analysis and optimization, probabilistic mechanics, and
metal forming. He is the author of over 130 technical journal papers.
He is a Fellow of ASME and of AIAA. His new textbook,
“Reliability Based Structural Design,” was published by Springer in 2006.
He is also a member Phi Kappa Phi, Tau Beta Pi, and Pi Tau Sigma honor societies.
