CECS Welcomes Dr. Ganapathy

Subhashini Ganapathy, Ph.D.

The College of Engineering and Computer Science welcomes back Dr. Subhashini Ganapathy, a new faculty member in the Department of Biomedical, Industrial & Human Factors Engineering.  Dr. Ganapathy earned both her Master’s degree and her Ph.D. in Engineering from Wright State University.  Dr. Ganapathy comes to Wright State from Intel, in Portland, Oregon, where she was responsible for research and development activities directed towards technology innovations that deliver Intel's next generation of products and platforms, including the Intel-powered Classmate PC.

Her research focuses on core areas of mobile computing, cognitive modeling, decision-making, user-experience, and human factors engineering. Her Ph.D. work on human-centered model-based decision making in time-critical vehicle routing made a significant contribution to the field of Applied Operations Research in military operations and was awarded the prestigious Bonder Scholarship for Applied Operations Research in Military Applications, INFORMS Military Applications Society in 2005.  Furthermore, she has three filed patents in the field of mobile augmented reality.

Dr. Ganapathy directs the Interactions Design and Modeling Lab.  Her research goal is to advance engineering education through innovation and technology adoption. She would like to prepare the next generation of students in fostering strategic thinking and applying new methods towards human-computer interaction.
