Department of Biomedical, Industrial, & Human Factors Engineering
The Department of Biomedical, Industrial & Human Factors Engineering (BIE) is the only academic unit, nationally, to share programs in these disciplines. Our programs are human-centered and focused on improving today's complex human-technical systems.
The BIE Department vision is to be nationally recognized for excellence in education and for cutting-edge research in specific engineering areas of biomedical, industrial and systems, human factors and operations research. Students experience a variety of engineering-related educational experiences through bachelors degree programs in Biomedical Engineering and Industrial & Systems Engineering.
Our Masters in Engineering features programs in the Biomedical Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, and Human Factors Engineering. Research is prominent in the Ph.D. in Engineering program in three focus areas: Industrial & Human Systems, Material and Nanotechnology, and Sensor and Signal Processing. The Masters in Engineering in Industrial and Human Factors Engineering can be earned entirely online through Distance Education!
